Currently there are no monsters in Green Despair on Mercury’s Novice channel. Cool bug, eh?

New Channels Added (16 + 17)

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

Hello Players!

Due to an increse in activity on our Servers, we have opened up two new channels in both Mercury and Venus. These new channels are 16 and 17!

Channel 16 will be a PVP or Player Versus Player channel so you can show off your skills to your fellow players.

Channel 17 will be known as a PVE or Player Versus Enemies room. So if you don’t want to fight with players we recommend Channel 17 for you!

If you guys have any questions about Cabal please contact us in the Help Desk and be sure to include the word Cabal in your subject.

Reporting Game Crashes:

Saturday, March 8th, 2008
Hello everyone,

If you are experiencing random client crashes, please try the following:

1) Check for viruses with your normal Anti-Virus software. There are free online virus checkers, such as Trendmicro, if you don’t have one. Use Google.

2) Please check your Sound card drivers. If you have a Realtek HD or 97 chipset , please make sure you have the latest drivers.

3) If none of the above has worked, go into your Cabal Online folder and see if there are any *.Rpt files in it. If so, please compress this file along with your dxdiag.txt file into a zip file and send it to us as an attachment in a Help Desk ticket with the subject “Cabal RPT”. To get the dxdiag.txt file:

- click on Start
- click on Run
- type dxdiag then press enter
- go to the Display tab and click on the buttons Test DirectDraw and Test Direct3D
- go to the Sound tab and click on the button Test DirectSound
- go to the Music tab and click on the button Test DirectMusic when it finishes, click the Save All Information button

Please attach the zip file into a new Help Desk by selecting a Help Desk category with a “#” next to it. A empty field will appear where you can browse and attach the file to the Help Desk. Please do not copy and paste the report as it is too big to fit in the message box.

Attention All Cabal Players

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that the ability to log into Cabal Online is a privilege, not a right, and that if you have not done so yet, to please have a look at our guidelines.

http://www.ogplanet.com/support/guidelines.asp

There will be revisions made to these guidelines in the near future, but regardless of that, at this time these guidelines apply to Cabal Online just as they do for our other games. Action appropriate for these guidelines will be taken for any one of these violations should a GM see this behavior take place. If you need to report a player for any one of these violations, then please take screenshots using the Print Screen function in Cabal. These screenshots can then be sent to us through our Help Desk system. Just follow these directions:

Log into www.ogplanet.com with the same user ID and password you use to connect to Cabal Online, and select “Help Desk” under the Support tab on this site, or click this link. When you are logged in, you will be able to select help desk categories that are not available for players who are not logged in - these are marked with a # sign. Any one of these categories will allow you to attach files.

Attach the screenshots by clicking the “browse” option to the right of the “attach file” field. Find the screenshot you have taken. This directory defaults at C:\Program Files\OGPlanet\CABAL Online\ScreenShot in most Windows versions. In the 64 bit edition of Windows Vista, this directory will be C:\Program files(x86)\OGPlanet\CABAL Online\ScreenShot . When attaching multiple screenshots, we appreciate it if you would please compile them all into a single .zip or .rar archive.

Fill out your subject, email address, and compose the email to us as you normally would, then click “submit”. This procedure can be used to repeat any guideline violations that you see. We at OGPlanet encourage you to report misconduct - be it profanity or advertising cash transactions for in-game Alz. Please help our GM team keep our game clean.

Tips on Shopping/Selling items

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

Hello,

I bet most of you have already sold items in the game or have bought items from other players through the player shops. Most of you have probably gone into the Trade channel only to be met with a mass number of player shops and so much text that it’s impossible to see what player’s are selling.

Here is a neat trick for everyone. There is a command in game called /filter that let you filter for a specific word that are displayed in the Shop Titles.

Example: If you are a buyer and wish to shop for swords, just type “/filter sword” in the chat bar and only Shop Titles with the word “sword” in their title will be displayed.

If you are a seller, we recommend you keep your Shop Titles simple so that players can use the /filter command more effectively. Use descriptions like “+3 sword” or “chaos lamp” or ” medium core” so that players can see what you are selling more efficiently.

I also recommend that when you turn off Player Name, NPC Name, and Guild Name from your Game options when you are buying items so they don’t get in the way when you are browsing player shops.

Creating Guilds and Buddies on Venus.

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

For those of you who have tried to create a guild on the Venus server, it is now fixed. However, you will need to log out and log back in again for you to be able to create your guild. Once you log back in, you should be able to go through all the normal steps without a problem.

This will also go for anyone who wants to add a person to their Buddy list. If you haven’t logged out, you’ll need to do so in order to add someone to your list.

This is only a one time thing as the fix was done while the server was still running. So if you haven’t logged in, in the past hour, then you should be fine upon logging in now.

Thanks again, everyone!

Update: Guilds (and Buddies) on the Venus Server

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

Update:

Hello again,

We’ve been told that the developers know how to fix the guild creation problem on Venus and that it could be fixed in about 10 minutes minimum.

Also, this apparently was tied to the Buddy List not working on that server as well. So when the fix goes through for the guild creation, you should also be able to start adding people to your Buddy List as well.

Thanks again for everyone being patient in all this!

Hey everyone,

We know about the problem with people not being able to create Guilds on Venus. We have the devs looking into it now and we’ll hopefully have that up and running soon.

Thanks for your patience!
